When multinational company operate their business, the foreign official organization request Hong Kong companies arrange International Apostille and Certified by Notary Public for their documents. The Apostille Service provided by High Court of HKSAR is deemed to same effect of international apostille due to Hong Kong is a one of the member of Hague Apostille Convention.

The documents submit to High Court for Apostille Service certified by The Notary Public who must be appointed by Chief Judge pursuant to Section 40A of Chapter 159 Legal Practitioners Ordinance.

An Apostille is a certificate issued by a designated authority in a country where the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement for Legalization of Foreign Public Documents, (https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/full-text/?cid=41) Apostille Convention, is in force.

Apostilles authenticate the seals and signatures of officials on public documents issued by a public authority, so that they can be recognized in foreign countries that are parties to the Convention. If clients holding the document other then Hong Kong jurisdiction and they wanna apostille convention for that document, they should find the suitable jurisdiction notary public to do so.

Original document is required due to it must be certified by qualified Notary Public before submit to High Court. Those documents should be issued inside Hong Kong jurisdiction, such as Birth Certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, Business of Registration and Marriage Certificate.
